My journey through the Google IT Support Professional Certificate

Less than 24 hours ago, I took the plunge.

I reached into my mental wallet, extracted my credit card information, and signed up for Google ‘s IT Support Professional Certificate. It was 2:39 am. I was ready. And tired as fuck.

But I’m almost done with the first week of work (it took only a few hours) and I wanted to share some gems I’ve learned, my reasoning, and my entire life story. The latter will come at another day, for sure.

I learned how to convert binary values to decimals and vice versa in a matter of minutes.

Actually, I’ll save all of that for another blog post. In the words of our Queen, Beyonce, “I’ve got work to do”. Anyway, I learned how to convert binary value to decimal value in a matter of minutes. Hooray!

Here are some other terms and things I’ve learned so far.

Algorithm- a series of steps that solves specific problems

Cryptography- the art of writing and solving codes

Binary system- aka the base 2 numeral system is our computer language. (Binary to decimal and vice versa)In binary 1=On, 0=Off.

Abstraction- simplifying a complex system for our use.

This is the roughest ass draft I’ve ever written about anything, but I want to quickly document my learning in the moment.

I’ll make it flowery and shit later.

Peace.
